75 new positive tests for Coronavirus in Montgomery County

Montgomery County officials announced today that there are 75 new positive tests for Coronavirus since yesterday. The new overall total is 506. Note that the 75 number is a combined number as the county did not receive complete data over the weekend.

The county has tested 2,364 people at its testing site at Temple’s Ambler campus. As of March 20th, 60% of the results are in and 13% of the 60% have tested positive. Note that this only includes the results from the county’s testing site.

An 82-year old woman from Springfield Township person is now the sixth death in the county. Thus far deaths have been in Abington (2), Cheltenham (1), Norristown (1), and Whitemarsh (1). There is at least one positive case in 51 out of 62 Montgomery County municipalities.

Locally the numbers of positive test results are:

  • Abington Township is at 42, which is seven more than yesterday
  • Cheltenham Township is at 35, which is four more than yesterday
  • Jenkintown is at three, which is the same as yesterday
