Vinyl Chickie in Glenside to sell entire record collection of legendary Philly DJ Pierre Robert on April 18

Lisa Schaffer, owner of the record shop Vinyl Chickie in Glenside, announced on Preston and Steve this morning that she will be selling the entire record collection of Pierre Robert, the popular 93.3 WMMR disc jockey and on-air personality who passed away in October.

The one-day-only sale starts on Saturday, April 18 at 10:00am.

From Vinyl Chickie’s post this morning:

My offer was accepted from his estate, close friends & family and the records were put in my car that day. The records were checked, cleaned, valued and priced fairly. A custom sticker was created for the outer sleeve of the albums for a personal touch. This is emotional, and heavy, & took a lot of work and planning, and I am so incredibly lucky to be the one that gets to share this collection with his friends and fans.

In an interview with Philadelphia Magazine, Schaffer said the collection includes 400 records and about 200 CDs “in pristine, pristine condition” and will be sold “for what they are valued at”. She also said she plans to donate a portion of the proceeds “back to the estate and they are going to donate it to a charity favored by Pierre.”

April 18, dubbed “Record Shoppe Day”, will include silent auctions, special guest DJs, raffles, and live music.
