Upper Moreland takes down Cheltenham in double OT, teams may split SOL Freedom Division title

The Upper Moreland High School boys’ basketball team is now ranked No. 3 in PIAA District 1 Class 5A following a 64-59 double-overtime win against Cheltenham High School on Tuesday, January 28.

The Golden Bears are 16-4 overall and 7-1 in the SOL Freedom conference. The loss dropped Cheltenham to 12-6 and 7-1. If both teams win their last two games, they will split the SOL Freedom league championship.

According to City of Basketball Love, Upper Moreland hasn’t won the league title in 41 years.
