Upper Moreland schools closed due to ‘serious threat of violence’

Dr. Sue Elliott, superintendent of the Upper Moreland School District, sent a letter this morning which announced that all schools in the district will be closed today due to a threatening voicemail left on the transportation department’s phone line over the weekend.

Dr. Elliot said the voicemail made a “serious threat of violence” to the district. A specific school was not identified and no further details were provided in the letter.

The Upper Moreland Police Department was notified and is currently investigating the threat.
