Christopher James Casey, 56, of the 300 block of Fitch Drive in the Hatboro section of Upper Moreland Township, was sentenced to 11.5 to 23 months in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter and possession of an instrument of crime in connection with the January 14 fatal stabbing of his next door neighbor, 62-year-old Robert Wallace, The Reporter said.
Casey, who was diagnosed with autism, sought a bail reduction in April after entering not guilty pleas to charges of third-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter and possessing an instrument of crime.
He must continue with mental health treatment, complete three years of probation after his release, is prohibited from returning to his Fitch Drive residence, and was ordered to have no contact with the Wallace family, The Reporter said.
Casey is eligible to be released on house arrest after serving 8.5 months but only to “an appropriate and verifiable address.”
