Officials announced that a person was killed after being struck by a SEPTA train in the track area near Elkins Park Station (7876 Spring Avenue in Cheltenham Township) around 11:15am on Friday, May 1.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Investigators said the person was initially pinned under the train, according to 6ABC’s report.

The victim’s identity has not been released.
