Dr. Sue Elliott, superintendent of the Upper Moreland School District, announced today that students were evacuated from Upper Moreland High School due to a fire alarm at 1:30pm.
According to her announcement, fire company officials determined that a pipe in the ceiling above the lobby had broken. Students safely returned to the gym within 15 minutes.
“The high school will modify dismissal today beginning at 2:10 PM. Student drivers will be dismissed first followed by bus riders,” Dr. Elliot wrote. “Car pick-up students will be picked up near the music wing of the building and directed out of the parking lot.”
The high school lobby will be closed for the rest of the day. Students will need to enter the building through the gym entrances for after-school activities.
