UMHS girls LAX dream season ends with Team of the Year honors, Frantz named Coach of the Year

The Upper Moreland High School girls lacrosse team has been named the Courier Times/Intelligencer Team of the Year, and head coach Kim Frantz has been named the Courier Times/Intelligencer Coach of the Year.

The Golden Bears went 19-4 this season, placed third in the PIAA District One Class 2A tournament and earned a first-ever berth in the PIAA state tournament. They also shared the Suburban One League American Conference title with Springfield-Montco and Upper Dublin.

Frantz has been with Upper Moreland’s lacrosee program for seven seasons and also serves as the Middle School’s Director of Athletics and Activities.

“We had a good group coming back this season, but, like every year, we had lost a strong group of seniors to graduation, and you always wonder how you’ll replace them,” Frantz told Philly Burbs.
