A dispatcher with the Abington Township Police Department confirmed that a transformer fire at The Fairway shopping center in Jenkintown Borough occurred at 3:06pm on Monday, August 26.

According to the dispatcher, PECO crews are currently servicing the damage. The township has not been notified of a timeline for power to return to the area.

Multiple businesses in the area are temporarily closed. A Whole Foods employee told us that they have not been affected and are open for business.
