The Abington Township Police Department announced today that it received a report of a student-issued threat directed at Abington Middle School.

According to police, officers and school staff “immediately investigated the situation and determined that it was, in fact, a student that had made up a rumor.”

The department said that there was no actual threat, and that school administration is addressing the student responsible for the rumor.
