A member of a local Facebook group recently posted the photo above, which seems to indicate a forthcoming tobacco shop at the former Wawa at Bradfield and Susquehanna roads.

The post brought forth a flurry of comments regarding similar shops in the area, among other concerns.

Kevin Van Horn of Abington Township’s zoning department said his office has not received any paperwork from the company.

“We have no current applications for consideration at 2041 Susquehanna Road,” Van Horn said, noting that there are no limits to the number of businesses of any kind in the Township.

Abington is currently home to the Abington Smoke Shop (1621 Old York Rd Suite 200), Easton Wireless & Smoke Shop (1165 Easton Road), BT Smoke Shop (1562 Easton Road), Abington Smoke Shop & Convenience (1342 Easton Road), Smokkey Tokkey Smoke Shop 2 (407 W Moreland Road), El Cigar Shop (401 W Glenside Avenue), and the list continues.

An associate at Eagle Smoke Shop Vape & Tobacco in Pottstown was unaware of any plans for an Abington location.
