The latest on the Coronavirus in Montgomery County

Montgomery County reports that there have been 3,923 new Coronavirus cases over the 14 days been November 17th and November 30th (daily totals are below in graph). The countywide total since the start of the pandemic is now 20,803.

Deaths due to Coronavirus rose in November. In October there were six deaths. November saw 33 deaths. The number of deaths countywide since the start of the pandemic is 871.

The 14-day PCR positive rate is currently at 8.02% as of November 25th. Having this number at 5% or under is considered suppression of the virus.

In regards to hospitalizations, there are currently 342 patients in Montgomery County hospitals due to Coronavirus and 41 of those patients require a ventilator. Coronavirus patients and those with other illnesses are using a 133 of the available 428 ventilators in the county.

The number of cases from the most recent 14 days is 1,139 more than the 14-days prior. The most recent seven days is 37 more than the previous seven days.

Locally, here are the current numbers:

  • Abington is at 1,545 cases, which is 234 more than since November 20th. There have been 75 deaths, which is two more than since November 20th
  • Cheltenham is 1,166 cases, which is 141 more than since November 20th. There have been 56 deaths
  • Jenkintown is at 97 cases, which is 16 more than since November 20th. Jenkintown recorded its first death since November 20th
  • Springfield is at 873 cases, which is 58 more than since November 20th. There have been 91 deaths
  • Rockledge is at 64 cases, which is six more since November 20th. There has been one death
