The Lower Moreland Police Department announced today the arrest of Antonio Zaliwciw, 18, for grand theft auto, theft, access device fraud, and receiving stolen property, among other charges.
According to the department, officers received a report on May 6 for a theft from a motor vehicle in the area of Red Lion and Pine Roads in Huntingdon Valley. The victim reported their wallet missing and noticed multiple unauthorized charges on their cards, all of which were used in Philadelphia. The charges totaled several hundred dollars, police said.
The same day, officers received a second report for a theft from a motor vehicle that occurred in the same neighborhood. The victim reported that their vehicle’s glove compartment and center console had been opened and the registration card and insurance card were missing.
On July 16, officers received a report for a theft of a motor vehicle that occurred in the area of Pine and Byberry Roads. The victim discovered their vehicle was missing, and items were stolen from another vehicle on the property.
The value of items stolen totaled several hundred dollars, police said. The stolen vehicle was later recovered and returned to the owner.
The following day, officers received a report for a theft from a motor vehicle that occurred in the same neighborhood. The victim discovered their wallet was missing from their vehicle and fraudulent charges were pending on their cards. The victim also discovered their insurance cards and firearm permit were missing.
The credit card charges totaled several hundred dollars and the cards were used in Philadelphia, police said.
After further investigation, detectives were able to identify Zaliwciw. An arrest warrant was applied for and granted, and he was taken into custody on Monday, September 23.
