We cannot thank Bill McCann enough for staying up into the wee hours of the morning to catch the site of New Hope & Ivyland No. 40 rolling through our own Glenside — even if not under its own power.

The locomotive had just finished its appearance at the North Wales 150th Anniversary celebration and was heading back to its home in New Hope.

Bill tells GlensideLocal, “It was a cool thing, the train coming thru town like that. It interested many people I spoke with and I was able to catch it and video it to share with folks who were unable to see it or didn’t know it was coming through.”

This was the first time the locomotive left its home since 1985.
