Local officials help break ground for new SPS Technologies facility in Jenkintown

Montgomery County commissioners Neil Makhija, Jamila Winder, and Thomas DiBello helped break ground this week for the new SPS Technologies facility at 301 Highland Avenue in Jenkintown.

According to their post, the SPS Technologies team, community partners, and local leaders were present at the groundbreaking as well.

SPS is hoping to begin production at the new facility by sometime in 2028. On January 22, SPS Technologies submitted site plans to the township. Those plans have been reviewed multiple times since then, most recently during a May 14 Abington Township Board of Commissioners meeting.

From their post:

On Friday, just 15 months after the devastating fire, SPS Technologies officially broke ground on a new facility—continuing a 120-year legacy of innovation and manufacturing excellence right here in Montco.

This milestone reflects the strength of collaboration, from the 70+ fire companies and first responders who answered the call that bitter cold night, to the various stakeholders who helped make today possible.

And it’s a powerful reminder that Montgomery County continues to be a place where businesses, jobs, and opportunity grow.
