Santa Claus completed his pre-planning visit to Oreland on Sunday, though the Big Guy had to change his initial itinerary. Instead of being escorted throughout Oreland by the Oreland Volunteer Fire Company, Santa Claus decided it would be best to do his pre-planning work from the firehouse for that fire company.
According to the Oreland Volunteer Fire Company, the decision to alter the itinerary was made because of weather conditions.
“While the weather didn’t co-operate for us this year, the always quick to respond volunteers came up with an alternative that worked out very well,” according to a statement from the Oreland Volunteer Fire Company. “The community was invited to our firehouse to meet Santa. Despite the rain we had a phenomenal turnout.”
Santa Claus was able to get his needed work done from the firehouse. It was reported that a number of elves helped with this pre-planning event.
All reports received indicate that Santa’s visit to Oreland (as well as neighboring communities) is right on schedule for December 25th.
