“In light of recent events, and as part of its mission to promote a safe community, the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety is hosting a Safety and Security Symposium to provide faith leaders with tools and information to better prepare their houses of worship and congregations for any type of disruptive event,” according to Mr. John Corcoran, Director of Communications for Montgomery County.
The Safety and Security Symposium for Faith Leaders will include, according to Mr. Corcoran, a number of presentations:
- Active Assailant Awareness
- Services for Victims and Support for Survivors
- Nonprofit Security Grants
- Public Safety Technology and Programs
- All-Hazard Emergency Operations Planning
This symposium will be held at 9:00 AM tomorrow:

Among the representatives that are scheduled to be present are, according to Mr. Corcoran, are “Montgomery County Commissioner Dr. Val Arkoosh; representatives from Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) [and the] Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA); and staff members from the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety and Montgomery County Office of Mental Health.”
