Rev. Brendan Zehner of St. Luke’s Glenside to be ordained into the priesthood on Saturday

Brendan Zehner, a Glenside native and parishioner at Saint Luke the Evangelist Church on N. Easton Road, will be ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on Saturday, May 18 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia.

On May 13, 2023, Zehner was ordained as a Transitional Deacon by Archbishop Nelson Perez and has since served at Our Lady of Calvary Church in Philadelphia on a year-long assignment as he completed academic and other formational programs at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary prior to ordination.

Rev. Zehner was recently featured by CatholicPhilly.com in an article titled “History Major Discerned Call to Priesthood While Working at Wawa“. The article profiles Zehner’s ascendency to the priesthood, a calling which began his senior year of college at William and Mary College in Williamsburg, VA.

“I was pretty lapsed in the faith,” he said. “But fortunately, I had some really good friends and teachers who helped guide me back in the right direction.”
