Residents of Elkins Park, Abington and Jenkintown share voting choices with WSJ

Residents of Elkins Park, Abington and Jenkintown were featured today in a brief Wall Street Journal article titled “Battle Over Abortion, Immigration Plays Out in Philadelphia Suburbs“.

The article zeroes in on the Philadelphia suburbs as Kamala Harris and Donald Trump battle for Pennsylvania’s 19 electoral votes.

Troy Jeffries, a 37-year-old assistant general manager for a building-cleaning company and a resident of Elkins Park, said he voted for Harris “primarily for these kids right here, and their reproductive rights. I simply do not trust Donald Trump.”

Reji Kuzhiyathu, a 46-year-old accountant and an immigrant from India and a resident of Jenkintown voted for Trump because “overall I want someone who stands for this country” and said he supports Trump’s stance on illegal immigration.

Lisa Bamberger and her daughter Madison of Abington both chose Trump because of his plan to crack down on illegal border crossings and concerns about transgender people competing in girls and women’s sports.
