Rep. Nelson warns of PA Turnpike scam which uses area code data to target victims

State Rep. Napoleon Nelson, who has offices in Glenside, has shared the details of a scam involving fraudulent text messages claiming to be from the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Nelson said that the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission recently became aware of the scam. According to the Commission, the actor “appears to be overseas and is using area code data to generate lists of potential victims.”

The Commission noted that the texts have gone to E-ZPass customers and non-E-ZPass customers.
