Representative Madeleine Dean of Glenside called today for the invocation of the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to remove President Donald Trump from office.
The 25th Amendment clarifies presidential succession and inability, establishing procedures for transferring power if a president dies, resigns, or is incapacitated.
Her statement on X.com came in response to Trump’s threats to strike Iran’s power plants and civilian infrastructure if no deal reached to reopen the Strait of Hormuz by his 8:00pm deadline.
His post on Truth Social states, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will.”
Dean said Trump “is unhinged and unwell.”
It is time for the 25th Amendment.
Trump is threatening war crimes, forcing the entire globe to wait and wade in his madness. He is unhinged and unwell.

According to the latest from NBC News, Trump said tonight that he had agreed “to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks” on the condition that Iran re-opens the Strait of Hormuz.
“Iran said tonight that it will allow safe passage of marine traffic through the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks if vessels coordinate with Iranian armed forces,” NBC News wrote. “Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also said Iran will stop military attacks as long as it is not attacked.”
Iran reportedly outlined a 10-point statement with demands to the U.S., the acceptance of which will determine the ending of the war.
“This plan emphasizes key points such as controlled passage through the Strait of Hormuz coordinated with Iran’s armed forces, granting Iran a unique economic and geopolitical position; the necessity of ending the war against all components of the resistance axis, meaning a historic defeat of the aggression of the Zionist regime; withdrawal of US combat forces from all bases and positions in the region,” the statement said, according to NBC News.
The plans additional points include the “establishment of a secure transit protocol in the Strait of Hormuz ensuring Iran’s control under the agreed framework; full compensation for damages to Iran; removal of all primary and secondary sanctions and relevant resolutions of the Board of Governors and the UN Security Council; release of all frozen Iranian assets abroad; and finally, the adoption of all these provisions in a binding UN Security Council resolution.”
