Newborn baby Alton Krause spent 142 days in Jefferson Abington’s NICU after he was born prematurely in September, CBS News reported.
Alton was four months early and weighed one pound. Dr. Eddie Chang, a neonatologist at Jefferson Abington, said he developed a lung condition and was treated with a high-frequency jet ventilator.
Alton now weighs 12 pounds and is meeting all his milestones. Parents William and Kayla Krause of Bensalem reunited with the nurses in the neonatal intensive care unit the day after Mother’s Day.
