Jenkintown Police Department Chief Tom Scott announced today that officers and crews from the Jenkintown Fire Department and other companies responded to a house fire at 221 Hillside Avenue at 7:17am.

According to the announcement, the fire took place in the rear porch. Officers were able to evacuate a resident to Jefferson Abington Hospital for evaluation along with several pets. No injuries were reported.

Mutual aid was provided by Abington, Glenside, Edge Hill, LaMott, McKinley, Rockledge, Roslyn, and Weldon fire companies along with Second Alarmers Rescue Squad.

The Jenkintown Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
