Abington Police Briefs: Week of July 22
ASSAULT
Megan C. Case-Callahan, 50, of North Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, was charged June 19 with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment following an incident in the emergency room at Abington Memorial Hospital, police said.
BURGLARY
Edgardo Cartagena, 37, of Turner Street, Philadelphia, has been charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property in connection with a Dec. 6, 2017, burglary in the 100 block of Old York Road, police said.
THEFT
Hassan S. Watson, 22, of North Broad Street, Philadelphia, was charged June 8 with theft, receiving stolen property and theft by deception at Primark in the Willow Grove Park mall, police said.
RETAIL THEFT
Frank Wade, 27, of 66th Avenue, Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property June 19 at Bloomingdale’s in the Willow Grove Park mall, police said.
Shahida Thomas, 21, of South 60th Street, Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property June 19 at Bloomingdale’s in the Willow Grove Park mall, police said.
TRESPASSING
John Chadwick, 19, of Oxford Drive, Warrington, was charged July 1 with defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and possession of alcohol as a minor in the 2600 block of Moreland Road, police said.
DUI: Drinking Under the Influence
Gregory C. Young, 60, of Norwood Avenue, Roslyn, was charged June 21 with driving under the influence and left-turn and signal violations following a stop at Woodland and Hallman roads, police said.
Elizabeth A. Loweree, 25, of Horseshoe Lane, Horsham, has been charged with driving under the influence and following too closely following a stop June 21 at Easton Road and LaMott Avenue, police said.
Shelly D. Maynard, 36, of Valley Glen Road, Elkins Park, has been charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving and an accident involving damage following a crash June 20 in the 800 block of Valley Glen Road, police said.
Rotselito G. Feliciano, 20, of Franklin Avenue, Willow Grove, was charged with driving under the influence and a lighting violation following a June 17 traffic stop at Susquehanna Road and Boone Avenue, police said.
Thomas R. Stauffenberg, 40, of Elbridge Street, Philadelphia, was charged with driving under the influence, following too closely and operating a vehicle without insurance following a traffic stop June 10 at Jenkintown Road and Kelly Lane, police said.
Brian M. Estelle, 58, of Arch Street, Philadelphia, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence, careless driving and a lane violation following a traffic stop May 11 in the 500 block of Old York Road, police said.
POSSESSION
Brown, 18, of West Wyneva Street, Philadelphia, was charged June 28 with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia at Old York and Susquehanna roads, police said.
Cheltenham Police Briefs Week of July 22
ROBBERY
Tyrell Billops, 27, of the 200 block Bardal Drive, Coatesville, was charged with robbery of a motor vehicle, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, criminal mischief and receiving stolen property after he struck his girlfriend and took her vehicle without her permission at 8:52 a.m. July 11 at Cheltenham and 79th avenues, police said.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
Yanay Goodson-Smith, 26, of Wyncote Towers in the 8400 block of Limekiln Pike, was charged with criminal mischief July 9 after allegedly slashing the tires of an ex-boyfriend’s vehicle around 2:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the apartment complex, police said.
BURGLARY
Tyrese Williams, 24, of the 1800 block of 73rd Avenue, Philadelphia, was charged with burglary July 11 after kicking open the front door of a residence in the 2100 block of North John Russell Circle at 8:53 a.m. and taking a camera before fleeing, police said. He was apprehended after a foot chase at Cheltenham Avenue and Pittsville Road, police said. Williams was also found to have two outstanding warrants from Philadelphia, police said.
A home in the 1200 block of Stratford Avenue listed for sale was found at 7:32 a.m. July 15 with the pipes cut and removed in the basement after entry was forced through the rear door, police said.
A home in the 1000 block of Melrose Avenue was found at 8:25 a.m. July 15 with entry forced through a basement window, but nothing appeared to be missing, police said.
Copper pipes were reported stolen at 1:09 p.m. July 13 from a home in the 1600 block of Willow Grove Avenue, police said.
THEFT
An electric cultivator was stolen from the rear yard of a home in the 1700 block of Graham Lane overnight July 8, police said.
Items were reported stolen July 13 by a black male, age 50 to 60, operating an older model blue pickup truck, from the driveway of a home in the 7400 block of Mountain Avenue, police said
RETAIL THEFT
Two males attempted to steal $2,819 worth of merchandise from Home Depot, 7690 Washington Lane, at 6:38 p.m. July 9, but all the goods were recovered and the two left in a U-Haul truck, police said.
Crystal Harper, 37, of the 8500 block of Fayette Street, Philadelphia, was cited for retail theft after taking $63.77 in goods from Walmart, 1000 S. Easton Road, at 1:03 p.m. July 10, police said.
Dwan Sheena Lee, 32, of the 2100 block of West Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, was cited for retail theft after taking $40.77 worth of items at 10:31 a.m. July 11 at Walmart, 1000 S. Easton Road, police said.
Charles Cobb, 55, of the 1300 block of South 46th Street, Philadelphia, and Jasmine Cobb, 23, of the 7300 block of Malvern Avenue, Philadelphia, were charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy after taking $176.66 worth of baby formula at 2:43 p.m. July 12 at Shop Rite, 2471 W. Cheltenham Ave., police said.
A male in his 40s fled Marshall’s, 2401 W. Cheltenham Ave., at 4:07 p.m. July 14 with a pair of sneakers valued at $30, police said.
Tasha Jackson, 38, of the 1900 block of West Godfrey Avenue, Philadelphia, was cited for retail theft at 5:05 p.m. July 14 after taking items from Fresh Grocer, 1000 S. Easton Road, police said.
TRESPASSING
A resident in the unit block of Latham Parkway reported at 8:17 p.m. July 9 that a bike, lawn mower and line trimmer were stolen from the garage, police said. A suspect was taken into
THEFT FROM VEHICLE
Three pair of sunglasses a custody, and a small container of change, total value of more than $200, were stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Prospect Avenue overnight July 10, police said.
VEHICLE ENTERED
The window of a vehicle parked at the Melrose Train Station, 880 Valley Road, was found smashed out at 4:37 p.m. July 9, but nothing appeared to be missing, police said.
VEHICLE THEFT
A gray 2008 Honda CBR600RR motorcycle, PA registration 1GP90, was stolen between 11:30 p.m. July 9 and 6:30 a.m. July 10 from the 8100 block of New Second Street, Elkins Park, police said.
VANDALISM
The door of an apartment in the 500 block of Stahr Road was found forced open at 6:08 p.m. July 9, but nothing was taken, police said.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A 17-year-old male of the 7500 block of Manchester Road, Elkins Park, was cited for disorderly conduct at 2:56 a.m. July 10 after officers investigating thefts in the area stopped him on his bike at Old York Road and Willow Avenue, police said. The youth had five or six Percocet in his possession, police said.
AUTO THEFT
A 2008 Saturn Vue, PA license HDZ2541, was reported stolen at 4:22 p.m. July 12 from the 2000 block of North John Russell Circle, police said.
FRAUD
A resident reported July 13 that $285.80 was fraudulently transferred from the victim’s account using the Square Cash app, police said.
ARSON
Fireworks were placed inside the mail slot of an apartment in the 2100 block of South John Russell Circle at 2:43 a.m. July 14, setting the door on fire, police said. The fire marshal will investigate, police said.
POSSESSION
Blair Williams, 19, of the 3000 block of David Drive, Roslyn, was charged with possession of marijuana following a traffic stop at 12:42 a.m. July 14 at Route 309 and Old Mill Road, police said. Jesse Williams, 22, of the same address, was taken into custody on an outstanding Montgomery County warrant, police said.
Jenkintown Police Briefs: Week of July 22
WARRANT
Angel Rodriguez, 30, of the 600 block of Wensley Street, Philadelphia, was taken into custody on outstanding Philadelphia warrants for firearms violations following a traffic stop at 10:32 a.m. June 21 in the 300 block of Summit Avenue, police said.
FRAUD
A business owner in the 400 block of York Road reported June 21 receiving a call from a male asking for her driver’s license information in order to verify her AT&T account, police said. The intended victim discontinued the call and contacted police, police said.
THEFT
A resident of the 100 block of Walnut Street reported a refrigerator was stolen from the driveway of the home at 2:30 p.m. July 9, police said. The refrigerator was strapped to a hand cart and a neighbor reported seeing a black truck back up into the driveway and a male take the hand cart and load it onto the truck and drive away, police said.
FRAUD
A resident reported July 11 mailing a $450 check that was subsequently cashed by an unauthorized person, police said.
