Philly man sentenced for possession of illegal gun during traffic stop in Abington

Rahshee Keith Mills, 35, of Philadelphia, was sentenced to 6 to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to illegally carrying a firearm in Abington Township following an alleged traffic violation on November 29, 2022, according to the The Times Herald.

Mills faced felony charges of person not to possess a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license. He will be enrolled in a substance use disorder treatment program during his incarceration, the article said.

An investigation began after a traffic stop of Mills’ Ford Explorer in the area of Jenkintown Road and Roslyn Avenue in Glenside, the Herald said. According to the criminal complaint filed by Abington Township Police Officer Daniel Burgmann, “the vehicle’s tint was so dark that you could not clearly see into the vehicle and the registered owner of the vehicle, Rahshee Mills, had a suspended license.”

Mills was found in possession of a loaded firearm with 14 rounds in the magazine and one round in the chamber, plus marijuana and 13 pills believed to be ecstasy, police said.
