Edgar Joel Cruz, 24, of Philadelphia, was sentenced two to five years in prison for kidnapping and robbing another man at gunpoint outside an Upper Moreland Township business in June 2023, Mainline Media News reported.

In June, Cruz pleaded guilty to charges of robbery, kidnapping and firearms not to be carried without a license.

According to police, Cruz stole a phone and wallet from the victim and forced him to drive to the Olney section of Philadelphia at gunpoint where the suspect stole money and belongings from the victim’s residence.

He was arrested on June 12, 2023 without incident.
