The Upper Moreland Police Department announced today that they are searching for an armed suspect who robbed and kidnapped a man from his workplace on Turnpike Drive in Upper Moreland Township on Thursday, June 1 at 5:45am.
According to police, the suspect stole a phone and wallet from the victim and forced him to drive to the Olney section of Philadelphia at gunpoint where the suspect stole money and belongings from the victim’s residence.
The suspect left on foot from the victim’s home and is described as a 5’6″ light-skinned white or Hispanic male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and surgical mask.

On June 1, 2023 at 5:45am, an employee of a business on Turnpike Drive was spending his break in his vehicle. A male armed with a handgun entered the backseat of his vehicle. The offender robbed the victim of his phone and wallet. At gunpoint, the offender instructed the victim to drive to his residence in Philadelphia, where the offender entered the home, took money and belongings from the victim’s family members, and left on foot. The offender is described as a light skinned male, white or Hispanic, and around 5’6″. The male was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a surgical mask.

According to 6ABC’s coverage, the victim was a 30-year-old man working in Hatboro, and the gunman was seen entering a dark-colored Chevy while in the parking lot of a Save A Lot located on the 5200 block of Rising Sun Avenue.
“We think there’s definitely some familiarity the suspect has with the area, not only up here, but with the Olney section of Philadelphia,” Detective Mark Bouldin told 6ABC.
The victim and his family were not physically harmed and were able to seek help from police.
