PECO to begin months-long utility construction on Cedar Road and Route 309 in Cheltenham Township

PennDOT recently announced that PECO Energy will be performing utility construction on several state highways, including two in Cheltenham Township.

Beginning Monday, May 6, through Wednesday, November 6, from 9:00am to 3:00pm, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on Cedar Road at the intersection with Marvin Road.

Beginning Monday, May 20, through Friday, July 19, from 8:00pm to 5:00am the following morning, a weekday closure is scheduled on Route 309 (Cheltenham Avenue) at the intersection with Route 611 (Old York Road).

During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 611 (Old York Road), Church Road, and Washington Lane. Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will complete these projects under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
