PA Drivers License Services Back Online

The statewide technical issue that affected PennDOT’s photo licensing and related services at PennDOT’s Driver License and Photo License Centers on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, has been resolved by PennDOT’s photo license vendor. All driver licensing and photo licensing services are now available.

In some cases customers processed today may have received a driver’s license or identification card displaying the word “interim.” The interim product is valid for 15 days and can be used like all other driver’s license or identification card products within the valid period.

To protect against identity theft, PennDOT uses the 15-day period to ensure that a customer’s photograph does not match another photograph in its database under a different name. Customers should expect to receive their permanent product in the mail within 15 business days. If, for any reason, you do not receive your permanent product in the mail within 15 business days, PennDOT recommends contacting their Customer Call Center at 717-412-5300.

PennDOT acknowledges the egg on its face and promises it will continue to provide updates as needed on social media.
