Since our last update on November 5th (data through November 4th), Montgomery County’s COVID-19 data hub reports that there were 122 new cases of Coronavirus on November 5th and 194 on November 6th. These new cases bring the total countywide since the start of the pandemic to 14,658.

The one-day 194 case total is the second-highest of the pandemic. On April 18th the one-day record was set with 200 cases. The one-day total has only ever topped 190 cases one other time (April 10th with 193).

One additional death was reported on November 6th, bringing the total for November to five. The total number of deaths countywide since the start of the pandemic is 843.

The 14-day PCR Positivity Rate as of November 1st is 4.53%, which is up from 4.39% on October 30th. Having this number under 5% is considering having the virus under control. It has risen by two points over recent weeks.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health’s data hub shows that there are 94 hospitalizations due to Coronavirus in Montgomery County as of November 6th at noon. This is slightly down from 101 patients on November 4th. There are 13 patients who require a ventilator, which is up from seven on November 4th.

The number of cases from the most recent 14 days is 835 more than the 14-days prior. The most recent seven days is 209 more than the previous seven days.

Locally, here are the current numbers:

• Abington is at 1,074 cases, which is 37 more than since November 4th. There have been 71 deaths, which is one more
• Cheltenham is 847 cases, which is 13 more than since November 4th. There have been 54 deaths
• Jenkintown is at 52 cases, which is no change since November 4th. There have been no deaths
• Springfield is at 710 cases, which is two more than since November 4th. There have been 91 deaths
• Rockledge is at 32 cases, which is one more since November 4th. There has been one death
