Nick and Evann Rodgers, owners of Moss Mill Brewing Company in Huntingdon Valley, have decided to hang it up after more than five years in business.
The closing date is set for Sunday, December 31. The family-owned company made its announcement via social media on Friday, December 8.
From their Facebook message:
Since we opened in 2018 Moss Mill Brewing Nick and I have enjoyed the tremendous support of this great neighborhood, our friends, our family, and all of you.
Nick and I have taken the past couple of months to reflect on our lives and those of our growing children. It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce the closing of Moss Mill Brewing at the end of this year. Our last day of operations will be December 31st.
The last several years have been a tremendous challenge. We are deeply grateful for the commitment and dedication demonstrated by our staff, some of whom have been with us since the very beginning. We’d also like to thank all of the amazing people we have had the pleasure of meeting, engaging with and getting to know. To our Collaborator Club members, it has been the pleasure of a lifetime to create something that so many of you chose to make a part of your lives. The customer support everyone has shown us over the years is truly humbling, and we cannot say THANK YOU loud enough.
We look forward to the next chapter of our lives and hope to see you all one last time before we depart. Keep an eye on our socials for specials as we get near the end.
According to their website, “Moss Mill started as a dream over 10 years ago in our kitchen. We’ve slowly graduated from the stove top, to the basement, to a dedicated brewing garage, and now a fully licensed facility with a 7BBL Brew System.”
BreweriesinPA.com wrote about the closure:
Their taproom offered guests an intimate setting and interactive craft beer drinking experience. As the business grew so did their location as they would go on to expand by opening an upstairs taproom with a central wrap-around bar, additional TV’s, big screen projector and space for another 120 people. The brewery became well known for their charitable nature from supporting charities related to Autism, Breast Cancer and many other causes.
