The Iron Oven Restaurant & Bar is coming soon to 58 S York Road in Hatboro.

Alex Nalbandian, owner of The Iron Oven Restaurant & Bar of Southampton, announced in July that he was in the process of buying the property. He told Glenside Local the location was officially purchased a week and a half ago and has been on his radar since it was put up for a sheriff’s sale following the Bernie’s closure. The Bernie’s later became a Ross & Co., which closed its doors in June 2025 after roughly a year in operation.

He’s looking to open sometime in November.

Construction started last week and will include a total teardown of the kitchen, basement, and everything in between, he said.

“We’re revamping everything and using every inch of the restaurant. The office is getting a redo, we’re getting new equipment, we’re adjust the layout,” he said. “As far as the dining space, the changes will be mostly cosmetic.”

Nalbandian said after about a year, his team will check back to see what other changes might be needed. Plans for a full bakery in the downstairs are still a go, and the menu will resemble that of the Southampton location.

“We’re building a bakery double the size of Southampton. This location is much bigger,” he said. “Our menu changes every six months and our specials menus change monthly. That gives our chefs the freedom to do whatever they want, see what people like, and add those items to the menu.”
