Moody Jones Gallery, located at 319 York Road in Jenkintown, is hosting a new exhibit titled “Two Visions, One Path” featuring Tafa and Felix Osiemi from December 19 through January 31.
An opening reception will be held on January 9 from 5:30pm – 8:00pm.
Two Visions, One Path brings together the work of TAFA and Felix Osiemi, two internationally recognized artists whose practices are rooted in collective memory, movement, and spirituality. Through abstraction and material exploration, both artists search for truth; one through rhythm and gesture, the other through reflection and intention. Together, their work forms a powerful and layered dialogue.
Featured Artist: TAFA
TAFA is an award-winning artist whose paintings have been exhibited and collected globally. Working primarily in oil, his abstract paintings carry strong social, political, and religious undertones, brought to life through bold color and expressive movement. His sports and music inspired works capture the energy, rhythm, and physicality of live performance, translating motion and sound into visual form.
“My paintings are my drum song, my dance of the soul,” TAFA explains. “I am like the divine drummer, trying to materialize the transient, the spiritual, to search the soul of our hopes, fears, and visions.”
For TAFA, creating art is both a spiritual and communal act. His work challenges and uplifts, guided by a belief that art reflects shared consciousness rather than individual ego.
“Delving into my being is not paramount,” he states. “What is pivotal is reaching into the internal spaces that have created an eternity of memory, our primordial memories.”
TAFA’s work has been exhibited and collected by galleries, educational, and cultural institutions worldwide. His paintings are held in permanent public and private collections including the Superior Court of Washington, D.C.; Barclays Bank; Sparrow Hospital, Michigan; Shell Company; Ghana’s National Museum; Carver Federal Bank; and notable private collections such as those of former New York City Mayor David N. Dinkins, Bryant Gumbel, and the late Johnny Cochran. He earned his BFA from the College of Art at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana and currently lives and works in Harlem, New York.
