Mark Levin, an Elkins Park native and 1974 graduate of Cheltenham High School, interviewed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a 1967 graduate of Cheltenham High School, in an episode of Fox News’ “Life, Liberty & Levin” on Saturday, July 12.
Netanyahu discussed his recent nomination of President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, the relationship between Israel and the United States under Trump, the ongoing war in Gaza, and its associated hostages.
Regarding the hostages, he said that 148 have been returned alive out of 255 taken.
“I intend to get all of them back. To do that, we’re now negotiating a deal which would give us half the hostages, living and the dead, for 60 days as far. We’re working on it. I worked on it with President Trump on this visit and I hope we get it,” he said
“I want as many saved. And in the process, we hope that we can get an arrangement where we can bring humanitarian aid to the civilian population without having Hamas loot it. That’s what they do. They loot it, jack up the prices and use the money to recruit 14, 15 year olds to their terror army. I hope that changes. So we’re working on it, but I think we’ll end up meeting all our goals, achieving the release and safe return of our hostages, all of them, destroying Hamas,” Netanyahu said.

In another part of the interview, they discussed who from history has influenced Netanyahu’s decisions. During that segment, their Cheltenham roots came up.
“You’re in the Hall of Fame in our high school. They won’t vote me in,” Levin said. You can watch that segment of the interview here.
In April, Levin became a member of the Trump administration’s new Homeland Security Advisory Council. Trump said the council will focus on the southern border and work to deport immigrants who have entered the country illegally.
