Man who committed four robberies at gunpoint outside four Abington businesses sentenced 8-16 years

Rodney Moyer, 45, of Colebrookdale Township in Berks County, has received his sentence for robbing four people with gun-related threats outside Santander Bank, the Michael’s store, Lukoil and Republic Bank in Abington Township on March 7.

The incidents happened within a one-block radius and spanned less than 10 minutes.

According to The Times Herald, Moyer “showed no emotion” when he was given 8 to 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to felony charges in early October.

“These were four implied gunpoint robberies in a very short time span. There were four people who thought they had a gun pointed at them, thought they might have only seconds to live if they didn’t comply with the demands. I don’t think the impact on those individuals can be understated,” Assistant District Attorney Tanner C. Beck said.

One of the victims was holding his two-year-old son when he was confronted by Moyer.
