Man sentenced for transporting crystal meth from California to Cheltenham

State law enforcement agents have arrested California natives Gerardo Lara, 30, and Gregorio Silva, 30, for their roles in a conspiracy to transport methamphetamine from California to Cheltenham Township in August 2022.

Lara was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 5 to 10 years in a state correctional facility, and Silva is still awaiting trial. The case was investigated by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics and Drug Control.

According to the arrest affidavit, Lara met a confidential source in a parking lot in the 100 block of West Cheltenham Avenue. State agents then moved in and took Lara and Silva into custody.
