Man pleads guilty to robberies targeting armored trucks, including 2 incidents in Elkins Park

United States Attorney David Metcalf announced on Wednesday that Dante Shackleford, 26, of Philadelphia, has pleaded guilty to his involvement in an armored truck heist in Elkins Park (Cheltenham Township) in August 2025.

He also pleaded guilty to a July 22, 2025, attempted robbery of a Brinks truck in Elkins Park, along with two attempted robberies of armored trucks in Philadelphia in July and October 2025. His charges include one count of Hobbs Act robbery, three counts of attempted Hobbs Act robbery, and one count of carrying, using, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

Shackleford was charged by superseding indictment in January, along with Mujahid Davis, 24, also of Philadelphia. He is scheduled to be sentenced on August 11 and faces a maximum possible term of life in prison, with a mandatory minimum of seven years’ imprisonment, a five-year term of supervised release, and a $1,500,000 fine, Metcalf said.

This case was investigated by the FBI Philadelphia Violent Crimes Task Force and the Philadelphia Police Department and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Robert Eckert and Kwambina Coker.

The FBI joined local law enforcement in the investigation in August 2025. Later that month, federal officials released new photos of the suspects and offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to their arrest.
