Man arrested for illegally digging metal out of the ground by train tracks in Huntingdon Valley, later found with drugs and paraphernalia

The Lower Moreland Police Department announced today the arrest of Daniel Call, 54, for theft, drug possession, and defiant trespassing.

According to police, officers were dispatched for a report of a suspicious person on the train tracks in the 2300 block of Philmont Avenue in Huntingdon Valley on Thursday, September 12.

Officers entered the track area and saw Call standing next to a hole that had been dug up with copper braiding and a copper grounding rod protruding. He admitted to digging the copper out of the ground.

Further investigation showed Call was in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, police said.
