Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation: ‘We look to the past to inspire the future’

The Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation, which finalized the purchase of Lynnewood Hall on Friday, June 30, made a public announcement that evening.

From their Facebook post:

It is with great pleasure and gratitude we announce that the Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation has officially purchased the former Widener Family estate, Lynnewood Hall.

It has been a long road full of uncertainty, yet we knew it was possible and vowed to bring this vision to a reality. We remain humbled by the support and generosity of our benefactors, our staff, board, and the community at large. Without your continued support we would not be here in this position today.

Today is indeed history in the making and we are honored to be the next stewards of Pennsylvania’s largest home. We vow to return it to the community as a place of education, inspiration and recreation.

History is extraordinarily important, and it is equally important to preserve the rich architectural fabric of our country, starting with our buildings. Architecture is the most public form of art and tells the stories of years gone by. Lynnewood Hall is rich in history and we look forward to sharing it as we progress forward.

It is important we iterate how grateful we are. Now the real work begins and we hope to have your support every step of the way!

As our motto illustrates; “We look to the past to inspire the future.”
