Lynnewood Hall in Elkins Park hosted the Design Philadelphia Beaux Arts Ball on Saturday, November 2.
According to Edward Thome, Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation’s Executive Director, the event was the first of its kind in 20 years.
From Thome’s post:
The affair was a tremendous success with almost 600 guests in attendance. The music was lively, the costumes fabulous, and the evening magical.
Five years ago I stood in a house abandoned with shattered mirrors, moldy hallways, and decades of dust caked to the walls and floors. Two nights ago we welcomed 600 Philadelphians to support education for children and celebrate a better tomorrow for our society and community.
We have so much more to accomplish with Lynnewood Hall but the Beaux Arts Ball was an apropos time to sit back and realize just how far we have come. Dreams really do come true if you work hard enough at staying the course and persevering through the hardships.
