Lower Moreland Township has received a revised sketch plan for the former bank property at 3993 Huntingdon Pike.
According to township manager Christopher Hoffman, the plan calls for a mixed-use concept with restaurant and retail space on the ground floor and one-bedroom apartments on the second and third floors.
Hoffman told Glenside Local that the plan was reviewed by the township’s board of commissioners at their April 2026 meeting, and that the applicant has submitted the required zoning map and zoning text amendment.
“At the Board’s May meeting, they considered whether to authorize proceeding with the formal review process for zoning map/text amendments,” Hoffman said. “The majority of the board voted to proceed with that process.”
Hoffman noted that the zoning map/text amendment process requires reviews by the Lower Moreland Planning Commission (LMPC) and the Montgomery County Planning Commission. The next two regularly scheduled LMPC meetings are Thursday, June 25, and Thursday, July 23. Once these reviews are complete, the ordinances would need to be advertised at a future board of commissioners meeting for consideration.
“If the ordinance amendments would be approved, the entirety of the preliminary/final land development process would still follow. This would include the applicant preparing all outside agency permits as well,” Hoffman said.
According to Loopnet.com, the property’s lot size is 2.15 acres and the building is 30,921 sf.
