Lower Moreland police arrest man for possession of an unlicensed and stolen firearm

The Lower Moreland Police Department announced today the arrest of Emeuel Charleston, 25, for possession of an unlicensed and stolen firearm.

According to the report, a vehicle in which Charleston was traveling was pulled over during a DUI Checkpoint operation led by Lower Moreland police and the Eastern Montgomery County DUI Task Force on September 20, 2024 at 640 Red Lion Road in Huntingdon Valley. The vehicle’s occupants were held for questioning due to suspicions of drug involvement, police said.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a 9mm Glock 43x handgun inside a grey backpack. Neither the driver nor Charleston possessed a valid permit to carry a concealed firearm in Pennsylvania. Further investigation revealed that the handgun had been stolen from Bucks County and the backpack belonged to Charleston, police said.

Charleston was arrested on August 20, 2025. His arraignment date is set for September 19.
