Lochel’s Bakery in Hatboro has sold 19K Election Cookies in all 50 states, 18K of which were for Trump

Lochel’s Bakery, a family-owned business located at 57 S. York Road in Hatboro, has caught the attention of the Philadelphia Inquirer for their Election Cookies, the sales of which seem to heavily favor former president Donald Trump.

According to their coverage, Lochel’s staff has received orders from all 50 states and nearly 18,000 of the 19,000 sales have been for Trump. In mid-September, the shop said it sold 5,200 Trump cookies and 500 Harris cookies.

The bakery has hosted the informal poll ahead of each election since 2012, the results of which have predicted three of the last four presidents and were covered in a News Nation article in late September.

In 2020, Lochel’s sold nearly 32,000 Trump cookies and 5,750 for Biden. The sales were covered by multiple international outlets after Eric Trump visited and bought a red-and-white sprinkled cookie with his dad’s name on it.

“I just think that it brought people together in 2020. We always had a line. They wanted to support a small business,” Lochel told News Nation. “It’s not scientific. It’s for fun … Whatever color cookie they’re coming in for, we’re happy to give them.”

Domestic sources such as the New York Post and Fox News, and international outlets as far as the Hindustan Times (which covers New Delhi, India), have reported on the bakery this election season.

More recently, Lochel’s has begun rolling out their line of Phillies baked goods in step with Major League Baseball’s postseason. The Phillies and the Mets are currently 1-1 in their seven-game series.
