Senator Maria Collett of Montgomery County recently announced $388,566 in grant funding for 29 local fire companies and emergency medical services (EMS) departments awarded by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.

The grants will go towards equipment and training, Collett said.

Local recipients include Upper Moreland Township Fire Department ($12,096) and Huntingdon Valley Fire Company No 1 ($15,000).
