Jay Howard, chef/owner of J’s GourAmaze Fine Foods and Baked Goods, recently announced that he expects to open his new Elkins Park doors in early July.

The new bakery is located at 7905 High School Road, the former Elkins Perk storefront. The old store was located at 6441 Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia, which Jay announced he would be leaving in January.

The popular baker said that the store has passed the Building Permit inspection, and he anticipates a liquid official opening around July 6, “possibly sooner.”

The store will feature a Gourmet Shoppe, a Kitchen/Culinary Institute, a Cooking & Baking School, and an Artisanal Bakery. Proposed days and hours of operation will be Thursdays 4:00pm-11:00pm, Fridays/Saturdays 4:00pm-12:00am, and Sundays 1:00pm-9:00pm.

A former stage magician, Chef Jay founded J’s GourAmaze in 1995. His company’s mission statement is to handcraft delicious and unique products from around the globe known as The “Ate” Wonders of the World.
