The School District of Jenkintown’s board meeting on Monday, November 10 will include a discussion of Legacy Park.

According to board member Kelly Gober Hudson, the board will be voting on contracts, discussing a timeline, and discussing fundraising for the project, which is expected to be completed by fall 2026.

In June, the Jenkintown Education Foundation hosted the Legacy Park Battle of the Bands to fundraise for the project. In March, the Legacy Park Community Board hosted a fundraiser as well.

In January, the Jenkintown School Board of Directors approved the construction of a new playground. It replaces the Jenkintown Community Playground castle, which is slated to be gradually dismantled. Jenkintown officials sent a memo in early September 2024 announcing that three areas of the castle were identified as unsafe.
