Jenkintown residents voice concerns over borough’s plan to add metered parking along 8 streets

Jenkintown residents were featured by FOX29 for voicing their concerns over plans to add metered parking along eight streets in the borough.

Some residents argued that the plan could make street parking more difficult as non-residents could park for up to 10 hours on these streets.

“We moved out of Philadelphia to get out of this,” one resident said.

“There’s already not enough parking in Jenkintown in general,” another resident said.

Jenkintown Borough Council hosted a special public community meeting on Wednesday, March 12 to discuss the possible advertisement of an ordinance amending the entirety of Articles III and IV of Chapter 172 of the Jenkintown Code relating to permit parking and payment parking areas and related parking provisions.
