In an e-mail to parents of Jenkintown students this morning, Jenkintown School District Superintendent Dr. Jill Takacs announced that Jenkintown Elementary Principal Jason Benfield has resigned effective today, December 31st, 2021, citing personal reasons.

Dr. Takacs noted that the resignation was unexpected, but they have already secured an interim principal, Mrs. Mary Fitzgerald. Mrs. Fitzgerald, is a Jenkintown resident and served as an interim principal at JES before.
