The Jenkintown Education Foundation (JEF) announced last week that organizers raised $1,304,366 toward the Legacy Park playground project which replaces the Jenkintown Community Playground castle behind the elementary school.
The funds will be used for Phase 1, which is expected to be completed this summer, the JEF said.
From the announcement:
We are taking the $1.3M raised and working with contractors to get the most out of every dollar, building play spaces that reflect what our kids and community asked for. If adjustments to the design are needed, we will keep you informed and continue to ground decisions in the surveys completed by students, families, and community members during the 2025–2026 school year.
Party for the Park Fundraiser
The JEF will host a “Party for the Park” fundraiser on Friday, May 8 from 7:00pm – 12:00am at Knowlton Mansion (8001 Verree Road, Philadelphia).
