In an e-mail this morning, Jenkintown MS/HS principal Thomas Roller indicated that the Back to School Night event on Tuesday, September 14th, will be held virtually.
From the e-mail:
- The event is scheduled for Tuesday September 14. We will NOT have a separate 7th grade event, but rather all parents will have the opportunity to participate on September 14.
- On the morning of September 14, we will share teacher videos with the community in which teachers share the course information that they typically share during Back to School Night. This is the format we used last year and received positive feedback about. We ask that parents view the videos for the courses that their children are enrolled in this year.
- On the evening of September 14, between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM, teachers will be available via email and phone to answer questions pertaining to the syllabus, course expectations, or any other questions pertaining to their class. If parents do not have questions after viewing the videos, there is no need to send emails to the teachers. The teachers will be in their classrooms monitoring emails as they come in and responding accordingly. If you wish to speak directly to a teacher via the phone, the teacher can communicate their extension number to you via email. Teacher email information can be found on the syllabi as well as on our school website. We understand that not everyone may be available to view the videos on September 14, so we plan to keep them available for you for at least a week or two so that you can view them at your leisure. Our staff is available to you throughout the school year to answer questions that may arise as the year continues.
Due to the Pandemic, this is the second year in a row that the event will be held virtually.
